Hi there! I am Robin. I want to tell you how this became “a thing”. I have 25 years of experience as a school counselor. When I began my career, I used to drive to school each morning thinking that I couldn’t believe that I was actually “getting paid to do this” because I loved it that much.
Over the last few years, things in education deteriorated and my overwhelm turned into stress which turned into trauma which turned in PTSD symptoms with daily triggers at work.
You may be wondering what this has to do with home education. When I was talking to some of my home educator friends, we realized that we had shared experiences about our stress and overwhelm, even though our settings were different.
We touched base frequently and helped each other with our stress and overwhelm. We had tools, solutions, and resources that we all started to use.
I wanted to help traditional educators with their overwhelm and stress but I quickly realized that it was too emotionally difficult. Yet, I still wanted to help others.
